Natural stone is a piece of a natural hard rock or piece of hard stuff substance. In the old times, they could be noticed being used in monuments, buildings, constructions, and commercial and residential houses. Even now, this stone has not lost its uniqueness, and is extensively used for the purpose of flooring in houses and offices.
It is not a new concept to use natural stones for the purpose of non-residential and home decor, because our topic of discussion has been around for the past 4,500 years. Natural stones were also utilised in one of the world's seven wonders, the Giza pyramids of Egypt.
The world's greatest enigma, Stonehenge, is also a specimen of the acceptance of natural stones. Moreover, they were also used in other centuries-old monuments and mansions. This has been the main reason for this stone to become so extremely desirous across the globe. It has acquired a distinct image in the minds of people intending to flooring and other construction work. Known as a flooring hard mass, their convention is most common among the folks who always seek for a derivative that can provide their home with a fragile and luxurious look. The ceramic tile has been around for 4000 years and was primarily made by early people to decorate their living spaces. In fact, there are fine-looking ceramic tiled surfaces that have been found in ancient structures such as the ruins of old Babylon, some ancient Greek cities, and some very old pyramids. Decorative tiling is said to be invented in the East where it flourished with great popularity and influenced a great variety of design.
When plainly defined, a ceramic tile is a tile that is basically made of clay. During the early days, ceramic tiles were made by hand and were baked in the sun. But later on, a slab has been designed to aid in forming these clay tiles which will then undergo a firing process in an extremely hot kiln that will harden the body of the clay and give it a surface glaze. There are two kinds of surface types of a ceramic tile: the unglazed ceramic tile and the glazed ceramic tile. Unglazed ceramic tiles only undertake one firing process while the glazed ceramic tiles undergo two. Ceramic tiles also have a wide variety of decorating techniques such as glazing, making encaustics or inlaid tiles, mosaics, carving, and hand painting.
